Things We Heard:
- Most people want sandwich board and temporary signs to help businesses attract attention, with reasonable guidelines for placement and timing.
- There is strong support for reducing restrictions, especially to better accommodate small and home-based businesses.
- Many respondents favor allowing more than one sign per building, including some off-premises and shared community signs to improve visibility.
- Improved highway and directional signage is needed to help visitors find businesses along Highway 97.
- Concerns about maintenance and appearance of signs were common, with calls for clearer standards and enforcement.
- People want fair and consistent enforcement across all business types.
- The community values signage that reflects local culture, inclusivity, and the small-town character of the District.
