New Off-Road Vehicle Bylaw

The District of 100 Mile House Council has adopted Off-Road Vehicle Bylaw No. 1482, 2026,
establishing requirements for the safe operation of off-road vehicles (ORVs) within the District
along designated routes.

The new bylaw provides designated routes where ORVs may operate and establishes
requirements intended to promote public safety and responsible use.

Under the bylaw, ORV operators must:
• Hold and carry a valid Access Permit issued by the RCMP
• Operate only on designated trails and routes during permitted times
• Carry proof of at least $2 million in third-party liability insurance; valid registration,
insurance documentation and carry a valid driver’s licence
• Wear required safety equipment, including helmets and seatbelts where applicable

The Off-Road Vehicle Bylaw No. 1482, 2026, and the designated trail and route map (Schedule
“A”) are available on the District of 100 Mile House website www.100milehouse.com and at the
District Office. Residents and ORV users are encouraged to review the bylaw and map before
operating an off-road vehicle within the District.
