Wednesday, April 10th, 2024 – For Immediate Release

Wednesday April 10th, 2024 - The District of 100 Mile House Council endorsed the five-year financial plan at the regular meeting of Council on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024.

The Mayor and Council, as stewards of our community’s financial health and well-being, carefully considered all fiscal decisions, especially in the current economic environment. With challenges and uncertainties, the District Council approved a 6% rate increase on municipal taxes to ensure the continued provision of essential services and the maintenance of infrastructure.

The District acknowledges that any tax increase, no matter how modest, can have real implications for our businesses, industrial employers, and residents, particularly those on fixed incomes or experiencing financial hardship. By responsibly allocating these additional funds, we can continue to provide essential services, invest in our future, and ensure a high quality of life for all residents.
